Cedarville Elementary is using alternative seating options in classrooms to help students focus while learning. Alternative seating is researched based to help students boost performance, burn excess energy, and improve behavior.  Numerous teachers across the country are trying this new type of seating in their classrooms and teachers at Cedarville Elementary are no different.  At the beginning of the year, the district ordered a variety of yoga balls, wobble stools, and foot bands for teachers to try in the classrooms.  After trying out the options, many students opted for yoga balls and actually brought their own.  Since the beginning of the year, teachers have moved from traditional seating with even more creative options in their classrooms such as bicycle pedals, rocking seats, and stand up desks.  Cedarville Elementary is one of the first schools in the area to implement alternative seating as a building wide initiative.
